Use C2PA Signer to check whether an image includes Content Credentials, whether the file still matches its manifest and how the signing certificate is evaluated.
Steps
Verify an image locally
- Install C2PA Signer and open the extension popup.
- Use the local file card and choose a supported JPG or PNG image.
- Read the status: Trusted, Signed but untrusted, Invalid or No credentials.
- Open the report to inspect manifest data, signature validation and certificate-chain status.
What it cannot tell you
It does not decide whether the image is true, fake or AI-generated. It reviews provenance and integrity signals.
